When sustainable architecture supports an ecosystem
Situated in the heart of Redford, Veterans Village Detroit is a sustainable small business incubator for veterans and non-profit organizations focused in disaster relief. We Create Group was honored to team up with Interactive America, Inc., Detroit Blight Busters and United Peace Relief to design a permanent training facility for disaster response and relief efforts. The mixed-use building needed to be safe and sustainable.
Gordon Soderberg is a former President and Executive Director of United Peace Relief and now leads The Veterans Green Village and The Veterans Green Bus projects. He works full time as the Program Development Director at Detroit Blight Busters, Inc. Gordon’s passion and dedication to The Veterans Villiage is undeniable; his grit and amazing ingenuity for practical sustainability plays a huge part in the architecture of the village compound.
